The first trial for two YouTubers accused of encouraging people to bring methamphetamine by posting false information on internet bulletin boards for the purpose of filming a “private arrest” video has begun, with both defendants pleading not guilty.

Ren Konno (31), also known as Ren Nakajima, and Michijo Okumura (29), who ran the YouTube channel “Guts CH,” are charged with inciting a man to bring stimulants by pretending to be a woman on an internet bulletin board and claiming she wanted to use the drugs together.

During the initial trial at the Tokyo District Court on the 29th, Konno denied any intent to instigate, while Okumura also pleaded not guilty, asserting that there was no connection between the charges of incitement and stimulants.

In the prosecution’s opening statement, it was revealed that the defendants had posted over 280 YouTube videos capturing individuals engaged in molestation and voyeurism, generating approximately 9.5 million yen in revenue over five months.
