The second Teej special entrepreneurial expo and trade fair started in Chitwan on Friday. The Women Entrepreneurs Forum organized it to gather entrepreneurial women, share experiences, and promote sustainable business practices.
The fair runs until September 11 and offers free admission. Over 10,000 visitors are expected, with transactions likely to exceed 5 million. Free transportation is available for visitors from all Chitwan municipalities. The fair has 60 stalls with products from women entrepreneurs, including handicrafts, Tihar items, clothing, shoes, boutique products, gifts, jewelry, food, henna, and beauty products.
Bagmati Province Minister Sukmaya Tamang opened the fair on Friday. The fair aims to develop skills for women’s self-employment and entrepreneurship, celebrate Teej, and share experiences.
The fair will have performances by national artists like Asmita Dallakoti, Shyam Rana, Prakash Parajuli, and Parvati Bhujel, along with local artists. It will also feature a Teej song competition, panel discussions on women entrepreneurship, policy debates, knowledge sharing, and motivational programs.
