Today, various literary programs are being organized to celebrate the 159th birth anniversary of the youngest poet, Motiram Bhatt.

Motiram Bhatt is not only known for his literary contributions but also for his role in the establishment of journalism in Nepal.

Bhatt was the first publisher to publish the newspaper Gorkha Bharat Jiwan in Nepali from Kashi in 1943 B.S.

His main works in Nepali poetry include Manodweg Prabha, Gajendra Moksha, Prahlad Bhaktikatha, Shakuntala, Padmawati, and others.

Motiram Bhatt was born on 8th September 1866 A.D. (B.S. 1923, Kuse Ausi) and died in 1896 A.D. (B.S. 1953) at the age of 30.
