Today, the Hillside of Baitadi and other areas of the Far-Western region are celebrating the Budhi Polne festival with great enthusiasm.

People burn Bhudi, which represents the demon Putana, by making a statue of her.

According to local culture expert Jayanand Bhatt, the buried Budhi will be cremated this evening as part of the Bhadra Sankranti celebration.

It is a day of remembrance for Lord Krishna, who killed the demon Putana by sucking her milk and saved the child during the Dwapar Yuga.

The day after Bhadra Sankranti, the statue of Putana is decorated using Babio and then left to dry in the sun all day until evening.

In the evening, the Putana statue is taken to the streets and then buried.

“While burning the statue, individuals chew cucumbers and throw them into the Burning statue of Putana , chanting the words ‘Thui Budhi Thui.

They believe that there will be peace, prosperity, and happiness in the villages.

Due to the lack of interest from the new generation, the ‘Budhi Polne’ festival is becoming rare.
