The Sudurpashchim Province police have deployed 11,000 officers to target the Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath festivals
To ensure public safety during the upcoming festivals, the Sudurpashchim police force has added 4,000 officers for deployment in the field, stated DIG Rabindra K.C., chief of the Nepal police in Sudurpashchim Province.
He added that, based on a review of past incidents during the Dashain and Tihar festivals, a large number of Nepali brothers and sisters returning from India face challenges such as being cheated, robbed, and encountering difficulties at the border checkpoints. To ensure their safety, we have added surveillance at the checkpoints
He added that there are 99 command posts, and the Nepal Police and traffic police from all districts patrol the areas, using pickets, foot patrols, mobile patrols, and more.
The province police office has requested cooperation from all parties to create an environment where citizens can celebrate festivals peacefully and in an orderly manner throughout the province.
