A 25-year-old wife was assassinated by her husband in Mahalaxmi Municipality-1, Dhankuta.

A 29-year-old, Bijay Darji, attacked his wife, Sarita Darji, with a khukuri.

Sarita Darji died in the district hospital in Dhankuta while undergoing treatment, according to DSP Rajbabu Maharjan, the spokesperson for the District Police of Dhankuta.

After attacking his wife, Bijay also attacked himself with a khukuri. He was admitted to B.P. Koirala Hospital for treatment. His wife, who was pregnant, died in the district hospital in Dhankuta. Darji has two daughters, aged 5 and 11 years old.
