The Nepal Election Commission has asked for polling stations to be provided for the local by-election on 16th of Mangsir (December). They have requested that the designated polling station locations be available from 13th to 16th of Mangsir, until voting is finished.
The Commission has instructed to use of community schools, private schools, ward offices, health facilities, community halls, industrial establishments, and public areas as polling stations to all local levels conducting by-elections, through the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration.
on Sunday meeting, the Commission emphasized that the local by-elections should be carried out in a transparent, free, fair, trustworthy, and budget-friendly manner. It also declaring public holidays at the local level polling stations.
The Commission’s spokesperson, Nita Pokhrel Aryal, shared that the meeting also requested arrangements to grant public holidays for offices within the local levels., :where by-elections are being held, as well as for the ward offices conducting the ward chairperson by-election.
The Commission has urged the relevant local levels and private sector entities, including industrial, educational, and other institutions in the district, to provide alternatives or holiday provisions to ensure that voters can easily participate in the election.
the Chief Election Officer and Election Officers includes ensuring that voters can cast their votes by matching their documents, such as voter ID, Nepali citizenship certificate, national ID, passport, PAN card, or driver’s license, with the final voter list.
The Commission has urged voters to go to polling stations and use their right to vote between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM on Sunday, 16th of Mangsir (December).
